Kay Frances Chapman, 68, of La Plata, MD died on October 21, 2015 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center. She was born in La Plata, MD on September 23, 1947 to the late William and Shirley Crouse.

She is survived by her son's Leonard Garner (Tina), Norman Garner (Brenda) and Darrell Garner (Tina), sisters Carol, Snookie, Terrie, and Mimi, grandchildren Katrina (George), Nina, Tony, Cody, and Nick. She is also survived by one great granddaughter Hannah.

Kay retired from Civista Medical Center in La Plata were she worked as a Nursing assistant. She liked to crochet, doing puzzles, planting flowers and had a love for dachshunds.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday October 27, 2015 from 10 Am until service time at 12 Noon at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, 211 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD 20646. Interment to follow in the St. Ignatius Hilltop Cemetery, Hilltop, MD.

Pallbearers will be Nina Garner, Nicholas Weappa, Cody Garner, John Micklus, Ben Bowie and George Baggarly. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Dr., Suite 1550, Chicago, IL 60601. Arrangements provided by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home.
