Carla Patricia Chite Ort, 65, of St. Leonard, formerly of Port St. Lucie, FL; Silver Spring, MD; and Churchton, MD died at her residence on April 18, 2008 of natural causes.

Carla was born in Washington, DC on August 30, 1942 to Carl Joseph and Virginia Davis Chite. After graduating from Holy Name Academy in Silver Spring, MD she worked as a bookkeeper for a brokerage office. In her 60s she returned to school and earned an Associates of Fine Arts Degree.

She is known best for her crafts, she could make anything and excelled in quilting and painting. After moving to Franklin Manor in 1971, she ran a craft shop in Deale for a number of years. In addition to her crafts, she was thought to make the world's best macaroni and cheese. After retiring, she moved to Port St. Lucie to take care of her father.

She is survived by her father Carl Joseph Chite of Port St. Lucie, FL; her children, Marianne (Jeff) Stiles of Churchton; Pamela (Robert) Walker of St. Leonard; Carla (Glenn) Sipe of Wayson's Corner; her sister Frances (Edward) Noyes of Glenwood; her brother Anthony (Karen) Chite of Port St. Lucie, FL; her eight grandchildren; Bobby, Jennifer, Melissa, Angel, Jeffrey Jr., Glenn Jr., Dakota and Skylar; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carla is preceded in death by her mother Virginia Davis Chite and a granddaughter Destiny Sipe.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Rausch Funeral Home, 8325 Mount Harmony Lane, Owings. Interment will be private.
