Mary Ethel Roland, 89, of Waldorf, MD passed away on October 2, 2015 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, MD. Mary was born in Washington, DC on February 7, 1926 to the late Milton Rollins and the late Ethel Rollins.

Mary is also predeceased by her loving husband, the late George Roland; four brothers and one sister. Mary is survived by her daughter, Regina McKelvey; sons, George H. Roland, III, Earl Roland, Robert Roland and Paul Roland; as well as nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mary was a stay-at-home mother who loved being home for her children. She also ran a daycare and nursery. Mary enjoyed playing bingo and the slot machines, watching the Washington Redskins and cookies. She was a member of the Waldorf Senior Citizen Club.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon , with a Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 Noon at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, 211 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD; Interment immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Rd., Clinton, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Waldorf Jaycees, 3090 Crain Hwy., Waldorf, MD 20601 or to the Waldorf Senior Citizen's Club, 3092 Crain Hwy., Waldorf, MD 20601.
