![]() William Michael Bowman known as (Mike or Pop Pop) was called to eternal rest on Saturday April 19, 2008. He was born on August 6, 1956 on River Road in Marshall Hall MD, to Mary Louise Johnson Bowman and the late Charles Henry Bowman II. He was educated in the Charles County Public School system. He graduated from Lackey High School in 1975.
He worked for the Joy Company and then as a security guard at Chalk Point Plant, he then started working for the Pepco/Mirant company as a mechanical repair man for 27 years. He also owned his own excavating company and was known to assist family and friends with their taxes. Mike (Pop Pop) was known to always have a loving kind heart. He was also known to never turn away family or friends in their time of need. Mike was known to be outside in his garden listening to WPFW on Saturdays and always cracking jokes, spending time with family/friends in the picnic area of his home, talking, laughing, and joking. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Henry Bowman II, his brother Joseph Stephen Bowman, his two sisters Agnes C. Watson, and Frances L. Butler. He is survived by his ex-wife Mary D. Bowman. His sons William M. Bowman JR, Maurice N. Bowman Sr. His daughters Sheila S. Bowman, and Toni R. Holly. Three grandchildren Marinda N. Bowman, Maurice N. Bowman Jr, and Sieanna E. Hatton. Two daughters-in-law Robin L. Proctor and Drue L. Bowman. Four sisters, Mary Jane Bowman, Ellen M. Hawkins, Ann E. Butler, and Margaret (Linda) Colbert. Seven brothers, Charles (Bubba) Henry III, James (Jimmy), John (Purnell), Herman(Randy), Arthur (David), Sherman Anthony, and Carl Jeffery Bowman. Four brothers-in-law and seven sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends. And God called you home to suffer no more our hearts may weep our eyes cry tears of joy but our hearts know that you are suffering no more. His Viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Thornton Funeral Home Chapel, 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland and on Thursday, April 24, 2008 10:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial, 11:30 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 4590 St. Joseph's Way, Pomfret, Maryland.
