Joseph Franklin Elliott, 90, of Broomes Island, Maryland passed away July 22, 2015 in Washington, D.C. He was born in Broomes Island, Maryland on June 29, 1925 to the late Guy Wilmer and Helen Ileen Sewell Elliott.

Joe served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946 and received the WWII Victory Medal, American Area Medal, Asiatic Pacific Area Medal, European African Area Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Joe is survived by his siblings Ruth Lorraine Godwin, Romona Mulligan and Glen Godwin Elliott and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings Guy Wilmer Elliott, John Samuel Elliott, James Harvey Elliott, Ronald Elliott, Delores Frances Dowell and June L. Grover.

The family will receive friends at the Rausch Funeral Home, 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD on Thursday August 13, 2015 from 10 till the time of a Memorial Service at11 AM. Interment will follow in Broomes Island Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements provided by Rausch Funeral Home.
