Keith William Axtell died at 2:30 a.m. on July 15, 2015 in Edgewater, MD. He was 57 years old. Keith was born on November 4, 1957 in Newport News, VA to Daniel and Reba Axtell.

Keith is survived by his wife Diana (née Genthner); daughters, Samantha (Christopher) Humphrey and Shannon (Ricky) Guy; grandchildren, Victoria, Owen, and Ruby; mother, Reba Axtell; siblings, Dana (Laurie) Axtell, Kevin Axtell, Christopher (Joan) Axtell and Suzanne (Gregg) Asciutto; and many nieces and nephews who loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Axtell, and his brother, Michael "Dean" Axtell.

After attending Bladensburg High School, he served his country in the United States Army and was proud to call himself a veteran. As a maintenance engineer most of his career, Keith was a hard worker and a jack of all trades—if it was broken he could fix it. He did everything to the fullest, especially his love of living life, which included fishing, hunting, and fast cars. His love for chocolate, though, could only be surpassed by his love for his grandchildren; he was their Pop Pop and they were his world.

A private viewing is scheduled for Thursday, July 16. A memorial gathering will be held at his daughter's home in Dunkirk, MD on Friday, July 17, from 4 pm-8 pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Keith's life. The family would like to thank South River Health and Rehab for their care and dedication.
