![]() Velma A. Lowe, of Waldorf, Maryland, died on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata. She was 88 years old. Born on July 22, 1926 in New York, she was the daughter of the late Nora Pearl Mahoney Lowe and the late Joseph Vincent Lowe.
Velma was an Administrative Assistant for the State of New York. She was an active member of the Clark Senior Center and the Waldorf Senior Center, where she had served as President. She was also involved in the Individual Education Program for the blind. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, baking, reading and line dancing. Velma was a very devout Catholic who taught CCD and religious education. She regularly attended Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. She is survived by her sisters Ruth Bridget Muriel Lowe Cipriani and Patricia M. Sharar; five nieces, two nephews, six great nieces, five great nephews, nine great great nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 10AM until time of Mass at 11AM at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, 100 Village Street, Waldorf, MD 20602. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, MD. Pallbearers are Stevie Kirk, Bob Badman, Blake Badman, Darren Sharar, Joseph Sharar, and Charlie Brown.
