Celia Agnes O'Connor, 89, of Owings, Maryland died April 5, 2008 at Inland Valley Hospital in Riverside, California.

She was born August 7, 1918 in Edwardsville, PA. Raised in Pennsylvania, she moved to the Washington D.C. area and married William J. O'Connor in 1942. They raised their family in Seat Pleasant, MD where she lived for forty-five years. Her husband Bill died June 18, 1986, and she moved to Owings to live with her daughter Patricia DePhillip and her husband Gino in 1994.

Celia was a homemaker, and enjoyed gardening, sewing, word search and jigsaw puzzles, and reading. She was a standing member and Past President of the Capitol Heights VFW Post 1627 Auxiliary, and a member of the Stallings Williams American Legion Auxiliary Unit 206, Chesapeake Beach, MD.

She is survived by her daughters Barbara M. "Bobbi" DePhillip and husband Tony and Patricia "Trisha" DePhillip and husband Gino, sons Michael J. O'Connor and wife Jill and Joseph P. O'Connor and wife Julie, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Sunday April 13 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, at Rausch Funeral Home in Owings, where a Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 PM.

Private interment will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland.
