Gayla Joy Jaramillo, 68, of Newburg, MD died on May 24, 2015 at the Charles County Hospice House in Waldorf, MD. She was born on April 5, 1947 in Poplar Bluff, MO.

Gayla was preceded in death by her daughter, Janna Jordahl; her parents, Louis Kenser and Leatrice Powell and stepfather, Thomas Kirk. She is survived by her loving husband, Gilbert; son, Eric Jaramillo; sister, Leah Rodis and four grandchildren, Jake, Josh, Leanna and Macy.

Gayla was a self-employed hair stylist for many years. She enjoyed crafting and spending time with family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with a Funeral Service beginning at 6:30 PM at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, 211 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Charles County, 2505 Davis Rd., Waldorf, MD 20603.
