Mary E. Tilghman, age 90, of La Plata, MD died on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at her home in La Plata. Born in Washington, DC on Feb. 16, 1925, she was the only child born to the late Bessie A. and Charles G. Jameson. She was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, the late Raymond T. Tilghman.

Mary worked briefly for the Federal Government before becoming a full-time homemaker.

She is survived by her daughters: Shirley Hancock and her husband, Roy of LaPlata; Debbie Mancuso and her husband, Billy of LaPlata; and Donna Fallin and her husband, Roger of Port Tobacco, MD. Mary is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Family will be receiving visitors on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home in La Plata with burial on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Rest Cemetery in La Plata.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at "Always There Companion Care" and Hospice of Charles County. The family would like to especially thank Mary Mayor and Breanna Nebel for their excellent care and support during Mary's last years.
