![]() Judith Marie "Judy" Geary, 51, of California, MD passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2015. Judy had valiantly fought a variety of health issues over the past 10 years. Born on March 31, 1964 in Memphis, TN, she was the first daughter of the late Niale Gerard ("Deacon Jerry") Geary and the late Eileen Marie (Main) Geary.
Judy moved with her family to Patuxent River NAS in August of 1977 and she graduated from Great Mills High School in 1982. Judy worked in various retail positions for many years. The majority of those years were spent with the Patuxent River Navy Exchange, where Judy made friendships that lasted her lifetime. Judy's proudest achievement occurred in 2006 when she graduated with Honors from ECPI with a Degree in Web Design. Judy enjoyed life. She had a youthful disposition. Her favorite things were rainbows, unicorns, fairies, video games, softball, all reality TV but especially singing competitions, and every person she came in contact with, even those who couldn't see what a truly loving heart she possessed. Even though Judy encountered some hardships in her life, she relentlessly showered unconditional love on all who came in contact with her. Even when in extreme pain Judy would greet everyone with a smile. When hurt by others, she quickly forgave. Judy was truly a diamond in the rough and will be sorely missed by those who were blessed to be able to share that gem. Judy is survived by the greatest loves of her life, her son, Ryan Christopher and her two grandchildren, Christopher Wayne and Amanda Grace. Judy also had a very special relationship with "her other boys", her great-nephew, Shawn and her nephew, Connor, both of whom she took great joy in helping raise. Judy will be deeply missed by her sisters and brothers, Kathi and Shawn Birch of Fredericksburg, VA, Cindy and Matt Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA and Debi and Ricky Melendez of California, MD. Judy was also adored as the favorite aunt by all of her nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Matthew (Kathryn), Shannon, Dylan, Jeremy, Kirsten, Shawn and Connor. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 22381 Three Notch Road, Lexington Park, Maryland 20653. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be Ryan Geary, Christopher Geary, Shawn Birch, Matt Johnson, Ricky Melendez, Dylan Johnson, Jeremy Birch, Joe Garcia and Joey Garcia.
