George P. Yourishin (Lt. Col. USMC Ret.) age 89, of Dunkirk, Maryland and Charlotte Hall Veterans Home passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015. Lt. Col. Yourisin served over 20 years in the United States Marine Corp and served honorably in WWII, Korea and Vietnam.

Husband of Florence Smith and loving father of Theresa Segaria, Michael Yourishin and his wife Mary, Walter Yourishin Patricia Carter and John Yourishin. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family.

He was an advocate of Maryland Right to Life and spent many hours and considerable effort lobbying local and state legislators. He was also a founding member of Forestville Program Aid Center. Mr. Yourishin played high school football and also played for the University of Scranton Royals. Mr. Yourishin was very strong in his Catholic faith.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Yourishin memory may be made to Maryland Right to Life. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will be at a later date. Arrangements provided by Lee Funeral Home.
