Vivian Virginia Cotton, 83, of Mechanicsville, MD, formerly of Clinton, MD died April 26, 2015 at home. Born December 8, 1931 in Takoma Park, MD, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Virginia Hiner.

She worked for the Safeway Corporation until devoting herself to raising two loving children. She enjoyed and mastered decorative cake presentations, baking and gardening, but above all, caring for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and beloved husband, Milford Ray Cotton. She is survived by her daughter, Lorri Rae Riess (Michael); her son, William Curtis Cotton (Beverly Kay); three grandchildren, Brandon, Kristin and Kayla.

A Life Celebration visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 5-8pm at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Funeral service will be on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11am at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. Interment will be at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623 at 2:30pm on Tuesday, May 12 , 2015.
