Charles Robert Douglas, Sr., age 73, of Pomfret, MD, died on April 21, 2015, at the University of MD Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, MD.

Charles was an owner/founder (in 1980) and operator of Douglas Concrete in Pomfret, MD and Pennsylvania. In his earlier years, he was also a computer programmer with VSE and was an insurance salesman. He liked playing cards (poker). He was known as a very hard worker, always taking care of others. He was a good family man and friend.

He is the son of the late Thomas Douglas and the late Ann Palusky Douglas. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marie E. Douglas; his son, Charles R. Douglas, Jr. and wife Lisa; his daughters, Karla R. Douglas, Angela K. Murphy and husband John, Tina M. Meyers and husband Chris, and Kerrie Tipton and husband Rodney; and his sisters, Mary Ann and Patty. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Friends received on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 2PM until time of Funeral Service at 4PM at the Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.
