Marian Javan Shaifer, 78, of Fredericksburg, VA (formerly of Lexington Park, MD the place that she loved and always called "her home") passed away on April 17, 2015. Marian was born on November 17, 1936 to the late Ernest Norman Harris and Annie Barber Harris.

Marian was preceded in death by her son, Terry D. Shaifer; her parents, daughter-in-law, Cynthia Shaifer and half sister, Patricia Key.

She is survived by her loving children, Waverly L. Crafton, of Fredericksburg, VA, Carlene Shaifer-Jones, of Fredericksburg, VA, Marilyn P. Shaifer, of Clinton, MD, Valera L. Pinkard (Darryl), of Orlando, FL, Keith M. Shaifer (Grace), of Spotsylvania, VA, Don A. Shaifer (Linda), of Washington, DC, Ernest N. Shaifer, of Daytona Beach, FL. , sixteen grandchildren, Rhonda, Keasha, Waverly Crafton, Jr., Taryn and Akeen Jones, Asia Shaifer, Sequitta Banks, LaTonya and Joseph Pinkard, Kahlil Shaifer, Deodis Clyburn, Shenica, Candace and Tawny Shaifer, Don Juan and Ernell Shaifer, twenty-six great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and siblings, Dora Benjamin, Bernezia Green, four half-sisters, Cecelia Harris, Joan Moore, Pamela Joseph and Miranda Brown and two half-brothers, Ernest Key and Wayne Key.

Family will unite with friends on Saturday, April 25, 2015 for visitation at 12 noon until time of service at 1:00 pm at Callaway Baptist Church, 20960 Point Lookout Road, Callaway, MD. Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 22020 Chancellors Run Road, Great Mills, MD 20634.
