![]() Timothy "Tim" Scott Wilson Sr., 55, of Great Mills, MD went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2015 at Georgetown University Hospital surrounded by his family and one of his closest friends. Tim was born on May 23, 1959 in Piqua, Ohio and was the son of Helen L. (Thompson) Wilson and the late James D. Wilson Sr.
Tim was a talented woodworker and marksman and enjoyed riding his Harley. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Tim also loved his dog "Tater". Tim will always be remembered for the stories he told to his family and friends, and his willingness to always help others or lend a helping hand. Tim graduated from Piqua High School in 1977 and joined the United States Navy the same year. Tim spent 21.5 years in the Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician and a Naval Aircrewman retiring in 1999. However he continued his service to the Navy by becoming a Logistician for the US Navy at PMW/A -170. He was a member of Sanners Lake Sportsman Club, a Benefactor Member of the National Rifle Association, and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2632 in California, MD. Tim was also a House Captain for Christmas in April. In addition to his mother, Tim is survived by his wife and best friend Cindy, whom he married on April 2, 2004; his son, Timothy S. Wilson, Jr. of Fernley, NV; his daughter, Casey J. Mellott of Lusby, MD; four brothers, Jeffrey (Jessica) Wilson of Springfield, OH, Jerry (Deb) Wilson of Tipp City, OH, James "Bub" D. Wilson Jr. of St. Paris, OH, and Ronald (Audrey) Wilson of Rifle, CO; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his "Pops", James D. Wilson, Sr. and his sister, Catherine Wilson. A celebration of Tim's life will be held on April 4, 2015 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will follow at12:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glenn Strickler officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christmas in April St. Mary's County, 28231 Three Notch Road, Mechanicsville, MD 20659. and/or Second District Vol. Fire Department, P.O.
