Judith Marie (Judy) Welch, 71, of Charlotte Hall, MD passed away on March 29, 2015 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Washington, DC, on June 29, 1943 to the late Charles Webster and S. Catherine (Kitty) Burch. She was predeceased by daughter Queen Anne, stepson Philip Welch Jr., and grandson Charles "Chucky" Mattingly.

Judy retired from the Bank of Southern Maryland in Hughesville after 33 years of service, and retired from County First Bank in Charlotte Hall after an additional 11 years. All who knew Judy loved her; nothing was too much trouble for her.

Judy is survived by her husband of 43 years, Philip Welch, and her six children: Bill Mattingly Jr. (wife Tracy) of Mechanicsville, MD, Karan Rose (husband Jimmy) of Charlotte Hall, MD, Cathy Sheeder (husband Shane), of Mechanicsville, MD, Connie Finley (husband Ray), of Mechanicsville, MD, Jay Welch of Charlotte Hall, MD, and Keith Welch (wife Danielle) of Mechanicsville, MD, and her stepson Chris Welch of North Carolina.

She is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren: Toni, Shannon, James, Jimmy Jr., Joseph Jr., Samantha, Kaitlin, Jessie, Kelley, Johnathon, Amy, Jason, Tyler, Justin, Brandi, Derek, David, Josh, Julie, Carson, Austin, and eleven great grandchildren: Conner, Kaylee, Emily, Briana, Leland, Karlie, Kayden, Jayden, Aida and Mason.

Judy is also survived by her siblings Lorraine Hancock (husband Freddie) of Leonardtown, Md., Barbara Cooke of Charlotte Hall, Md., Donna Lee Jarboe (husband George) of Charlotte Hall, MD, Jerry Burch (wife Brenda) of Charlotte Hall, MD, and Ellen Bowles (husband Donnie) of Charlotte Hall, MD.

A viewing will be held at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622 on Wednesday April 1, 2015 from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, at same location, with the burial immediately following at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 13715 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, MD 20617.
