On Sunday, March 29, 2015 CMSgt (Ret) Eugene (Gene) Joseph Sciarratta, 81, of Waldorf, MD passed away after a courageous battle with Cancer. He was born on December 9, 1932 in Rochester NY.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Patsy J. and Lena Sciarratta (nee Conti); son, Gregory E, Sciarratta; and brother Donald P. Sciarratta. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Ellen Sciarratta (nee Reed), brother Frank R. Sciarratta, daughter, Lisa M. Johnson and her husband, David. L.; son, Mark J. Sciarratta and his wife, Melody A. and son, Cooper J.; daughter-in law, Doreen A. (Greg) Sciarratta and her daughters Margaret A., Lena M., and Rose M. He will be missed by many other relatives and friends.

Gene served 26+ years in the US Air Force and concluded his military career assigned to Air Force One as the Chief Master Sgt. 89th FMS. When Gene retired from the Air Force he continued his career with Beech Aerospace/Raytheon in the position of Lead Aircraft Mechanic, retiring in 1996.

Gene loved family above all else, and traveling to visit extended family. He enjoyed hosting family events, family vacations, cooking, and dining with family and friends. He was also an avid gardener who's gardens and roses were exceptional.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Rd., Waldorf, MD from 4 to 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday April 8, 2015, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Waldorf, MD at 11 a.m. with interment at the Church Cemetery following.
