Alta Kathryn (Kathy) Carrigan, 79, of Waldorf Maryland passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, The Reverend Herman Hugh Kitts and Zena Carolyn Kitts, beloved husband, Francis Peter Carrigan, brother Charles Foster; and sisters Annalee Murphy, Janie Ellis, and Francis Marie Foster.

She is survived by her sister, Maxine Hargis, two children Kathy Russell and her husband Randy of Hughesville, Maryland; and Michael Carrigan and his wife Brandee of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Ryan Russell, Lauren Russell, Kristina Carrigan, and Christopher Carrigan; and one great-grandchild, Chase Michael Evans. She is also survived by special niece Janet Carol Ellis of Knoxville, Tennessee and several other nieces and nephews.

Kathy enjoyed sewing, crafts, and watching her grandchildren's sporting events. She played the piano by ear and sang in the church choir while in Tennessee. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Waldorf, Maryland where she served on the parish counsel and volunteered as an usher for many years.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with prayers beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Rd. Waldorf, MD 20601. A mass of Christian burial will be held on, Monday, March 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 3320 St. Peter's Drive, Waldorf, Maryland 20601 with interment to follow at the church cemetery.
