Francis "Frank" Lloyd Murphy, Sr., age 88 of Warsaw, VA, formerly of Dunkirk, MD died on March 19, 2015 at his residence.

Frank was a retired E5 Sgt. with the United States Army. Following his retirement from the Army, he worked as a full-time carpenter for many years. He was of the Catholic faith and a past member of the VFW. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting, fishing, and especially growing his garden.

He is the son of the late Benedict Winfield Murphy and the late Mary M. Bridgett Murphy. He is also predeceased by six brother and four sisters. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Donna M. Murphy; his sons, Francis L. Murphy, Jr. and his wife Marvella and John R. Murphy and his wife Sharon; his daughters, Barbara J. Hurrey and her husband Patrick and Gloria L. Murphy-Thomas. Also survived by nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Friends received on Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 2-6PM and where Wake Service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 11AM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment at MD Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD.
