Mrs. Baker, formerly of Milford, Conn., was a devoted homemaker and a retiree from Lord & Taylor. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading, nature, dogs, and traveling with her family.

Born April 30, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Mary and Stuart English. In addition to her parrents she was preceded in death by her birth father, James F. Connelly, her husband, Norman C. Baker in 2007, son Norman C. Baker, Jr. In 1971 and brother Stuart English.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary S. Cocke and her husband Tom of La Plata; son, Timothy J. Baker of Milford, Ct.; brother, Seth English; grandchildren, rebecca Howard, Christina Cocke, Joshua Cocke, and Samantha Hanna. Also, three great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, La Plata, Md. On Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 2 pm.
