Lawrence Raymond Batch of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina formerly of Baden, Maryland died Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. He was 87 years old.

Born December 20, 1918 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Edna Louise and Joseph John Batch. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II until he was Honorably Discharged in 1945 at the rank of Tech 5. While in the service, he was awarded four bronze stars for the campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe, the Good Conduct Medal and the Expert Infantry Badge. He worked as a Carpenter Foreman for the Carpenter's Union Local 1590 before retiring in 1976. He enjoyed working in his garden and doing home improvement projects.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Batch was preceded in death by his brothers Joe and Charles Batch.

He is survived by his children Dorothy Batch of Myrtle Beach, SC, Larry Batch and his wife Helen of Fort Washington, MD and Jim Batch of Mechanicsville, MD; brothers Leonard Batch and his wife Linda of Tennessee, Ralph Batch of Waldorf, MD; sister Elizabeth Biagi of La Plata, MD; grandchildren Charlie Batch, Laura Batch, Jim Batch Jr. and Bryan Batch; great grandchild Garrett Batch.

Family to receive friends on Thursday, October 12, 2006 from 2-4 & 6-8PM at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Road Charlotte Hall, Maryland where Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 13, 2006 at 10AM. Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens Waldorf, Maryland.
