Calvin Aloysius, affectionately known as "Chuckie" of Newburg, MD received his wings on January 29, 2015 at the Hospice House in Waldorf, MD. Chuckie was born on October 13, 1949 in Dentsville, MD to the late William and Ophelia Edelen. He was educated in the Charles County public school system.

Chuckie is preceded in his death by three sisters, Magdalen Butler, Gloria Holt and Evelyn Edelen; one brother, Joseph Edelen (Sonny), four brother-in-laws, Harold Butler Sr., Richard Dorsey, Reed Butler and David Holt Sr; two nephews, Joseph H. Butler Jr. (Big Joe) and John Butler (Double); 10 grandchild and 20 great-grandchildren.

Chuckie was employed as a laborer for Bowling Farm, Cooksey's Lime Company, PEPCOand Staurt-Kret until he retired on disability due to his illness. He was a member of St. Mary's Newport Catholic Church in Newport, MD.

Chuckie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, playing pool, fixing cars, cooking, watching WWF and western movies. He loved listening to his favorite oldies music while humming and snapping his fingers to the beat. He was also a fan of the Washington Redskins.

Chuckie leaves to cherish and celebrate his memories the mother of his children, Marie Edelen; loving children, Jacqueline, Calvin Jr., Carolyn Edelen and John Barnes; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Butler (Harold) and Martha Dorsey (Richard); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
