Busey, V, 45, of Lusby, MD passed away peacefully March 21, 2008 at his residence. He was born April 2, 1962 in Monterey, CA to his parents Rear Admiral James B., IV, (Retired) and Jean C. Busey.

Jimmy is also survived by his loving wife Charlotte May Busey whom he married on October 10, 1992 in Westminster, MD; two loving children, Jessica Lynn and James Buchanan Busey, VI of Lusby, MD; two sisters, Angela R. B. Presto of Fresno, CA, and Nancy J. B. Naumann of Grass Valley, CA.

Jimmy was raised in a career Navy family spending his formative years in Lemoore, CA and Fairfax, VA. His love of bird hunting was shared with his father. He was a cross country runner and in his senior year at Fairfax High School, Fairfax, VA, was voted Senior Athlete.

Jim completed his college education with a BS in the Aeronautical Engineering co-op program at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. He worked for the Navy at the David Taylor Model Basin during college and upon graduation in 1985 was employed with the Navy at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. During his 25 year career, Jim was involved with many Flight System projects. He attended the Test Pilot program as a member of TPS class 98.

He left the Navy for a short period and was an investigative engineer with the National Transportation Safety Board. During his year with NTSB, he was the Aircraft Accident Investigator representative to the FBI at the World Trade Center September 11, 2001 tragedy. He then returned to Pax and his most recent work was as the Lead Flight Test Engineer and Manager for small Unmanned Air Systems for the Naval Air Warfare Center.

His devotion to his wife and children was his number one priority. In his children, he instilled courage, confidence and a deep faith in Christ. Jim coached youth soccer for four years. He and his family shared many trips and their love of bike riding. Jim will be remembered primarily for his love for his family but also his engaging personality, great sense of humor and his professional and technical ability.
