Andrew V. "Andy" Lorence, of Newburg, Maryland, died on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Charlotte Hall. He was 99 years old. Born on March 31, 1915 in Newburg, Maryland.

Mr. Lorence served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was the recipient of several decorations and medals including the Purple Heart, the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the American Campaign Medal. He was Honorably Discharged in 1945 at the rank of Private First Class.

Visitation on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 5PM to 8PM with Prayers at 7PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Mass will be offered on Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 15848 Rock Point Road, Newburg, MD 20664. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
