Sara Custus Lorence, age 91, of White Plains, MD (formerly of Landover, MD) died on January 4, 2015 at the University of MD Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, MD.

Sara was a homemaker and a member of White Plains Baptist Church in South Carolina. She was known as a wonderful mother and grandmother, and an outstanding wife and homemaker.

She is the daughter of the late Wes Medlin and the late Cora Baker Medlin. She is survived by her husband, Bernard William Lorence; her sons, Bernie and Larry Lorence; her brother, Clyde Medlin; her sisters, Vole and Mary Medlin, Hilda Caldwell, and Mertis Busick; her grandchildren, Jennifer Garolao and her husband Nick, Jeffrey and Bobby Lorence, and Misty Bacchus; and her great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Nickolas Garofalo, Ashlynn and Ayden Lorence, Alexiya and Austin Bacchus, and Blake Lorence.

Friends received on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with a Funeral Service at 7PM at the Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 10:45AM at the MD Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623. Arrangements provided by Raymond Funeral Service.
