![]() John Bartley "Bart" Mettam, 67, of Ridge, MD passed away on December 11, 2014 in Prince Frederick, MD. Born on December 1, 1947 in Danville, IL he was the son of the late Rita Raley Mettam and Willard A. Mettam, Sr.
Bart was the loving husband of Georgina Perez whom he married in Lima, Peru, on September 7, 2002. Bart is survived by his children; Eleanor Wilson (Daniel) of Hunt Valley, MD, Cesar Sanchez (Rosa) of Valle Lee, MD, Arturo Sanchez (Theresa) Edie of Great Mills, MD, Aaron Sokol of Timonium, MD, and 2 grandchildren. Siblings; Mary Leslie Carpenter of Troy, NC, Charles Mettam (Regina) of Boone, NC, and Laurie Mettam of Chapel Hill, NC. He was preceded in death by brother Willard A. Mettam. Bart graduated from St. Mary's Ryken High School in 1965 and graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelors of Science in Economics in 1970. Bart worked as a Team Lead Financial Management Analyst for Patuxent Naval Air Systems Command for 30 plus years. He was a member of the Optimist Club, Buzzy's Store Crew, and he enjoyed fishing, cooking, boating/ boat racing, and NASCAR racing. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 15, 2014 from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM with prayers recited at 5:00 PM in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Lexington Park, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Immaculate Heart of Mary Lexington Park, MD with Father Marcho Shad officiating. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Ridge, MD. Pallbearers; Arturo Sanchez, Cesar Sanchez, Daniel Wilson, Joseph Warren McKay, Bruce Price, and Barry Carpenter. Honorary Pallbearers: John Wayne Raley, Robbie Norris, J. Scott Ridgell, Michael Yabar, Duncan Lepper and Brian Barnhill.
