Mary Ruth Furr, 83, of Prince Frederick died March 16, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown. She was born June 14, 1924, in Bishop, Calif., to the late Chris and Josie Spratling Phillips.

She was the wife of the late Charles S. Furr, whom she married on May 26, 1954, in Las Cruces, N.M.

She is survived by several friends dear to her who she called her family, David, Wendy, Amber and Joshua Flynn of Hollywood, Elsie Flynn of Prince Frederick and Peggy Distefno of Hughesville.

She was a nurse's aide for the majority of her life. She was a giving, loyal and funny person. One of her favorite hobbies was driving and sightseeing.

She will be inurned with her late husband at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., at a later date.
