Johnny Jenkins, 82, of Lexington Park, MD passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 8, 2006. Mr. Jenkins was born in Round Pond, AR on June 15, 1924, he was the son of Frank and Pairlee Pedigrew Jenkins.

He made Lexington Park his home in 1948. Mr. Jenkins retired from the US Navy after 30 years of exceptional service including a tour of duty during World War II. After the Navy, He worked for Civil Service an additional 15 years before retiring again to spend his remaining years working on his farm.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Elizabeth V. Jenkins of Lexington Park, MD, six children, Francis Fenwick of Lexington Park, MD, Joseph Price of Lexington Park, MD, Melvin Price of Ridge, MD, Viola Jackson Laird of Mitchellville, MD, Rudolp Jenkins of San Diego, CA, June Jenkins Allen of Alameda, CA, 20 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 14, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church, 47359 Lincoln Avenue, Lexington Park, MD 20653. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in First Missionary Baptist Church, Lexington Park, MD. Pastor Roderick McClanahan will officiate. Interment will follow in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Lexington Park, MD.
