Anne Coyne Tennison, 84, of Leonardtown, MD, entered into Eternal Life on November 29, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 7, 1930, in Scranton, PA she is the daughter of the late George Francis Coyne and Marjorie Mulderig Coyne.

Anne is a 1948 graduate of St. Mary's Academy and later from Towson State Teachers College. She was a dedicated teacher at Mother Catherine Spalding and Father Andrew White schools for 33 years before her retirement. She loved and always remembered all the children she taught.

On December 29, 1951 Anne married her beloved husband, James L. Tennison at Holy Face Catholic Church in Great Mills, MD. Together they celebrated 62 wonderful years together.

She was a fan of the Orioles and Capitals. However, her greatest pride and joy was her family, whom she loved to spend her time with, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Anne was a long-time, active member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church where she served as a lector, choir member, on the Building and Maintenance committee, the St. Vincent de Paul committee, and as a religious instructor. She was an original member of the board of Maryland Right to Life of St. Mary's County. She also served on the Board of Directors for St. Mary's Nursing Center, Cedar Lane Apartments and the Father Andrew White School Advisory Board. She was a member of St. Mary's Historical Society, Friends of St. Mary's City; and as a docent for St. Mary's City.

In addition to her husband, Anne is survived by her children: James L. "Jim" Tennison, Jr. of Mechanicsville, MD, Lisa Anne Goddard (Mike) of Rock Hill, SC, and Joseph Edward "Joey" Tennison of Leonardtown, MD; her sister, Sarah Coyne Haskins of St. Petersburg, FL; her grandchildren, Casey Tennison McClure (Jeff), Jason P. Tennison, Meghan Goddard Carter, (Kevin), Sean M. Goddard, Kaitlin N. Tennison, Kayla M. Tennison and Joseph Kyle Tennison, Evelyn Carter, her great-grandchildren: Ryder McClure, Brody James McClure, Carter Downs Gibson and Lillianne Carter; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, George Patrick Tennison and her sisters: Mary L. Coyne Bohanan, Catherine Anne Coyne and Marjorie Coyne Reed.

Family will receive friends for Anne's Life Celebration on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m., with prayers recited at 7:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Dave Beaubien on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 22800 Washington Street, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Interment will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Leonardtown, MD.
