![]() Maggie passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Genesis Waldorf Center. Born on January 25, 1924 in Washington DC, she was 90 years old.
Maggie was the daughter of the late Joseph Ryon and Lelia Hawes Ryon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gould and her brother, Bill Ryon. She is survived by her son, Ronald Gould (Paulette); her daughter, Pamela Shupe (Gary); her grandchildren, Joseph Gould (Danielle) and Christina Shupe; and her great grandchildren, Romi, Leana and Quentin Gould. Maggie grew up in Washington DC where she met and married her husband, Pvt. Joseph Gould at Walter Reed Hospital. The family later relocated to Capital Heights, MD and she began her career with the CIA where she later retired. She relocated to La Plata in 1989. She was very active in the Richard Clark Senior Center. She was an avid Washington Redskins fan. She was also an active member and volunteer of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 82 in La Plata and loved baking cakes, which she often donated to their bingos. The family received friends Monday, December 1, 2014 at 5:00PM until 8:00PM with a Funeral Service at 7PM with Pastor Aaron Rummage and an American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Service at 7:30PM at Raymond Funeral Home in La Plata, MD. Burial will follow at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Maggie's name.
