Janet Diane Christner, 80, of La Plata, MD was born on November 24, 1934 and died on her birthday, November 24, 2014 at Southern MD Hospital Center in Clinton, MD.

Janet was a floral designer and a staunch Republican. She was an avid reader, loved to decorate, gardening, a gift wrapping pro, and enjoyed listening to music that spanned over the decades. Janet's greatest love was family.

She is the daughter of the late Joseph Francis Briar and the late Gladys Catherine Peters Briar. She is survived by her husband, George D. Christner; her son, James Michael Rough and his wife Ce Ce; her daughter, Alyce C. Mulloy and her husband Dan; and five grandchildren, David, Ryan, Jonathan, Lacey, and Matthew. She is also survived by special family members, Aunt Alyce and Gloria.

Friends received on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 5-8PM and where a Funeral Service will begin at 10AM on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.
