On Wednesday, November 12, 2014 Kenneth Winfred Smith of La Plata, MD quietly entered eternal rest at his residence. He was born on December 12, 1963 in Prince Georges County, MD to the late Bernice and Roger Smith. He worked for Prince Georges and Charles County School Boards.

He was the loving husband of Darlette, and devoted father of Kenneth, Jr. (Mary). In addition to his wife and son, he is also survived by his father, Roger, sisters, Juanita Barber, Vivian Drew, Laura Smith and Sharon Johnson, brothers, Roger, Jr., Abott, and Terrance Smith, aunt, Pauline Dotson and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his mother, Kenneth is preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence.

His viewing will be held from 9am until time of Service 11am on Friday, November 21, 2014 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD 20640. Arrangements provided by Thornton Funeral Home.
