![]() Kendra Kanessa Harley, 19, daughter of Rita Ann Jamieson and Paul Harley, was born Sunday, March 3, 1995 at Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, Maryland.
Kendra or "KK," as she was more affectionately called by her mother, grew up in Port Tobacco, Maryland. She attended Gwynn Center Head Start, La Plata, Maryland; Gale Bailey Elementary School, Marbury, Maryland; Milton Somers Middle School, La Plata, Maryland and graduated in June 2013 from Henry E. Lackey High School, Marbury, Maryland. While in high school, Kendra was in the Air Force Junior ROTC. She was in the process of entering into the United States Armed Forces. While awaiting that process, she worked part time for the Blue Dog Restaurant in Port Tobacco, Maryland, Sartik's Catering and T & J Bar-B-Que Pit Second Generation located in Marshall's Corner, Maryland. She was also caretaker of her brother, Anthony and grandfather, Henry E. Jamieson, Sr. Her unofficial job was to shadow her mother, Rita and grandmother, Joann. :) Kendra was a lifetime parishioner of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in McConchie, Maryland. She frequently visited Kingdom Covenant Church, Clinton, Maryland where her cousins, Tanja and Harry are Elder and youth Pastor. It was there that Kendra received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and now will spend eternal life with Jesus in Heaven. Kendra was blessed with the "Gift of Helps." If you needed her, she was there and with a giving spirit. Kendra was not only a help in life but also in the transitioning from this earthly life to life eternal as it was her decision (noted on her provisional driver's license) to be an organ donor. She was inspired to help someone else as her brother Anthony was helped by the generous donation of an organ donor. Kendra appeared to be a quiet young lady, but she was an outgoing risk taker. She was driving long before she had an "official" driver's license. She also enjoyed skiing, swimming, dancing, traveling, shopping, dining (her only entreé being Caesar Salad with some type of protein), listening to music and tinkering with electronics. She could figure out how to solve computer program problems and was a master with mobile phones. Kendra transitioned to eternal life on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, surrounded by a host of family and friends. In addition to her parents, left to cherish that beautiful smirk of a smile, outgoing spirit and loving memories are: her brother, Anthony; sister, Ashley: grandparents, Henry, Sr. and Joann Jamieson; aunts, Tracy Chesley (Lloyd aka JR), Patsy Brown, Tina Harley, Marie Lopez and Mary G. Woodland; uncles, Henry Jr., Jerome and Kevin Jamieson, Carroll "JC", Val, Garrett, Milton "Junie" and Robert "Kym" Harley; dedicated godparents, Chester and Ruth Gross; a host of great aunts and uncles, great-great aunts and uncles. Kendra had a special relationship with many of her cousins, Chesney and Julian Jamieson, Kayla and Jonathan Chesley, Alexis and Tyler Jamieson, Garry, Lydia & Itika Johnson (twin), Aniyah and Kandes Carter, Brandon Jamieson "BJ", Anthony, Joyce & Anthony Fultz II and Kamiya Terry (who gave her the blues). She also held a close friendship with Juaira Smith (twin), Kayla Coates and Tyler Ball. A host of other cousins and friends will also treasure fond memories. Her pet dogs, Princess and CJ, will miss her too.
