La Grange Avenue, La Plata, MD. 5K Run/Walk through the streets of downtown La Plata. Entry includes t-shirt, sports bag and post race brunch. Professionaly timed and USATF Certified. The Southern Maryland Optimist Junior Golf Championships (SMOJGC) will conduct a free rules clinic at Breton Bay leading into a series of golf tournaments throughout Southern Maryland. TWIN SHEILDS GOLF CLUB OWINGS MD. Southern Maryland Optimist Junior Golf Championships For Boys & Girls Age 10-18The Southern Maryland Optimist Junior Golf Championships (SMOJGC) will conduct 5 Nine Hole Tournaments for Junior Golfers. Open to Boys & Girls, including 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, & 16-18 for Boys and 10-13 & 14-18 for Girls, which is based upon the players age as of July 30, 2007. The Boy & Girl winner in all 14-18 age divisions at each event will qualify for the Maryland-S Delaware District of Optimist International Tournament to be held at Marlton Golf Course in Marlton, MD on Tuesday June 17, 2008. The Winners of the District event will qualify for the Optimist International at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida held in late July 2007. We will be conducting a Rules and Etiquette Clinic on Saturday May 24, 2008 at 3:00 PM for all players. This will be a free clinic and we expect all players to attend. All tournaments are "After School", registration will begin around 2:30 PM with the first group Teeing off around 3:00 PM, beginning with the 16-18 age brackets followed by the 14-15, 12-13 & ending with the 10-11 golfers. There is no need to take your child out of school early, as we will fit them in until 5:00 PM. To enter, simply fill out the form below, enclose a check, and mail to the address at the bottom or bring it to the course the day of the event.
