His Lordship's Kindness is one of three structures in Prince George's County designated as a National Historic Landmark. It was built in 1787 by Robert Darnall on an original 1703 grant from Lord Baltimore to Col. Henry Darnall- Robert's great-grandfather. The house was designed by architects James Hogan and Leonard Harbaugh. It has been owned by a U.S. Senator and several U.S. Diplomats.
