Join us as we celebrate 70 years of “The Open Door”. We will host a celebratory banquet on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Bay District Volunteer Firehouse, 46300 S. Shangri-La Drive, Lexington Park, MD. Tickets can be purchased by contacting First Missionary Baptist Church at 301-863-8388—Adults $30.00 and children 13 and under $15.00. Ticket purchase deadline is June 11th (tickets will not be available at the door.)
The celebration will continue on Sunday, June 25, 2017 during our 10:00am Divine Worship Service.

The National Park Service invites you to learn the secrets of the Declaration of Independence at the home of one of Maryland's signers. Activities include:
• Free tours of Thomas Stone's house are normally given on demand.
• Watch a film and explore the exhibits in the Visitor Center.
• Hike over two miles of trails through forests and fields, while passing historic plantation buildings and the Stone Family Cemetery.
• Complete an assortment of Junior Ranger activities to earn badges, certificates, and other prizes.
• Collect seven different National Park Passport Stamps.
• Purchase books and souvenirs in the gift shop.

The Autism Spectrum Support Group of Southern Maryland, Inc., and St. Mary's College of Maryland will present a training session titled "Understanding Autism and Other Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities" from noon to 4:00 pm on Thursday June 8 at St. Mary's College of Maryland.

This free certified training program is open to all law enforcement, firefighters, emergency service personnel, and other first responders; this program satisfies the state mandate that law enforcement be trained in the awareness of and strategies for effective interactions with individuals with autism and other intellectual and developmental disorders. The training must be completed by the end of 2017. All materials are provided.
