“Get Caught Reading” Photo Contest

In recognition of May's "Get Caught Reading" national literacy campaign, Children’s Aid, Inc. is sponsoring a photo contest for Calvert County children, ages 6 months – 13 years.

To enter, email a photo of your child/children reading to Photo@TheChildrensAid.org. Include your name, the reader’s name, age and city of residence. Only photos of children reading books, magazines or newspapers are eligible. No digital devices, please!

Winners will be selected by popular vote conducted on Children’s Aid, Inc’s Facebook page. The deadline to submit a photo for the contest is May 30. Voting will end on May 31, 2016 at midnight and winners will be announced June 1, 2016. Photo entries will be placed in one of three categories based on the age of the reader: children 6 months to three years of age, children four to nine years of age and children ten to thirteen years of age.

You'll be entertained by the Twin Beach Players Youth Troup in their performance of the 3rd Act of "Our American Cousin" by Tom Taylor as adapted by Matthew Konerth and followed by Historian and Author, Mr. Michael W. Koffman. Dr. Duke Thompson, as Abe Lincoln, will be on hand to tell Abe's story through music.
