The Back to School Fair will feature informational mini sessions for parents and students, a school supplies giveaway (while supplies last) and light refreshments. Admission is Free! Mini sessions include Smart Ways to Organize, Avoiding Homework Stress, Managing Emotions/Conflict Resolutions, Healthy Nutrition/Health Sleep Habits, Communicating: Developing a Partnership Between the Student/Parent/Teacher, The Impact of Positive School Behavior on Achievement and more!

Participants are asked to fill in a 'Checklist for School Success' by attending at least 3 mini sessions to receive school supplies (while supplies last). Each mini session will be approximately 15 minutes. Information tables from many community organizations and partners will be available to browse and learn about everything they have to offer.

Dr. Janice Walthour, NAACP president and Education Committee chair stated that "This is the first year that we have sponsored this event and we have reached out to the community to provide children and their families with opportunities to learn about the many ways to have a successful school year." The inaugural Southern Maryland Balloon Festival, presented by Exelon Generation, will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Spider Hall Farm in Prince Frederick, Maryland!

Join us for this family-friendly event featuring tethered hot air balloon rides, live bands, food vendors, a KIDZONE, and more! Enter our raffle for a chance to win one of two 45 minute non-tethered hot air balloon rides to be scheduled at a later date!

General admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 3-12. General admission tickets will be sold at the door the day of the event. Free parking is available at Hallowing Point Park and the College of Southern Maryland's Prince Frederick Campus, with continuous shuttle service running throughout the day. Limited handicap parking is available onsite at Spider Hall Farm.

This is a rain or shine event with no reschedule date.

Festival with KIDZONE & live music begins at 1 pm : Tethered balloon rides begin after 3pm : Fireworks & Glow Balloon Show begin at sunset
