Celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King with a community art activity! Each year, Annmarie invites guests to help create a community art installation in honor of a dream. This year's event will celebrate diversity, unity, and ambition through three fun projects for all ages to enjoy:


Window art installation-- make a colorful bird collage and contribute it to our ever-growing window display. Make your contribution as unique as you are!

Wish Jars-- make your own beautiful wish jar to take home and inspire you to action all year long! Bring your own jar or use one of ours.

Communal Coloring Tent-- forget old school coloring books! Join in on the extreme coloring craze as you crawl into our creative coloring tent, enjoy the therapeutic qualities of coloring inspiring designs, and make new friends along the way.

And don't forget to take a brisk winter walk or meet and greet our Artists in Action while you are here!

Bring your child to the 2016 Elks Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest at Davis Community Center (2495 Davis Road, Waldorf) on Friday, Jan. 15.

This free event is open to all youth 8 through 13 years old. Pre-registration is recommended at www.CharlesCountyParks.com. On-site registration will begins at 6 p.m. with competition starting at 6:30 p.m.

Participants must bring proof of age (copy of birth certificate, passport, or baptismal certificate) to the event. Age group eligibility is determined by child’s age, as of April 1, 2016 (not necessarily their current age).

Awards will be presented to all age group winners. Winners will have the opportunity to move up to district, regional, and state finals. State winner advances to national finals where the winner will have their name enshrined in the James Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

We use funds for registration fees, for purchasing equipment and to pay for travel and lodging.
