Sally Jill Whitman, 81, of Port Tobacco, MD died on September 29, 2014 at the University of MD Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, MD. She was born on June 26, 1933 in Mouth of Seneca, WV to the late Stafford and Lestie Heavner. She was also predeceased by her brothers Jack and Jimmy Heavner.

She is survived by her husband Robert Whitman, son Gregory Whitman and his wife Lisa Lupis.

Sally worked for the Department of the Army Corp of Engineers, Census Bureau and the Department of Air Force Defense Fuel Supply Center. She then became a Realtor in Southern Maryland finishing her career at O'Brien Realty. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and an avid dog lover.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 6th from 5 to 8 pm at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata, MD where a Funeral Service will be held at 7 PM. The interment will be at 1 PM on Tuesday, Oct. 7th at the Hillcrest Burial Park in Cumberland, MD.
