Joseph Louis "Joe" Burch of Waldorf, MD died on May 31, 2014 at his residence with Hospice. He was 79 years old.

Joe was a co-owner of Hemming and Burch Electric Company for 45 years and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Waldorf, MD. He enjoyed restoring old tractors and tobacco farming. He liked traveling (bus trips) and playing cards. He was always known as a hard worker, he enjoyed working in his garden, and built his own home. He most enjoyed being with his grandchildren who were the love of his life.

He is the son of the late Clarence Vernon Burch and the late Hattie Marguerite Roberts Burch. He is also predeceased by his four brothers, Clarence "Dick" Burch, James "Cotton" Burch, Roy "Buddy" Burch, and Russell "Skip" Burch and one daughter-in-law, Janine Burch. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Christine Hintze Burch; three sons, Mark A. Burch and his wife Stacie, Michael L. Burch, and Christopher S. Burch and his wife Shane; and eight grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas, Megan, Ryan, Justin, Tyler, Sarah, and Kaitlyn.

Friends were received on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 4-8PM with a Wake Service at 7PM at the Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 1PM at the St. Peter's Catholic Church in Waldorf, MD. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
