William Ralph Whalen "Bill" Mudd of Faulkner, MD died on May 18, 2014 at his residence with Hospice on the same family farm where he was born on January 26, 1938. He was 76 years old.

He was predeceased by his wife, Pamela E. Mudd and his parents, Claude E. Mudd and Virginia Mary Whalen Mudd.

He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Mudd McDonald and her husband Ferris of Edgewater, Elizabeth Mudd DeLabar and her husband Dan of La Plata, and Peggy A. Mudd of Faulkner and his siblings, Mary V. Branick and her husband Bill of Hughesville, Eugene Mudd and his wife Maureen of Clinton, and Michael J. Mudd of Golden Beach. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Bill retired from the United States Navy as a Machinist Mate Master Chief Petty Officer in 1974. He then went on to his second career in Engineering with Cafritz Company, retiring after 28 years in 2002. He loved boating and fishing. He and his wife were known for helping anyone who asked.

Friends received on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 4-8PM with a Funeral Service at 7PM at the Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment will be private.
