Kathy Stephens was born in 1963 in Washington, DC to the late Randolph and Nancy Stephens, Sr. She is one of five children.

Kathy grew up in Ft. Washington, MD where she graduated from Friendly Sr. High School in 1982. Kathy lived with her father in La Plata, MD until he passed away, she then moved to a group home in Waldorf MD.

Kathy worked as a janitor at Melwood in Clinton, MD for ten years. She loved animals, especially cats and dogs. Kathy enjoyed reading, playing games on her computer, word puzzles and most of all quilting.

Kathy is survived by her siblings; Randolph L. (Julie) Stephens, Jr., Rose Burton, Barbara Herber and Teresa Hall, Nieces and nephews; Katie and Bradley Stephens, Scott Burton, Trey Cook, DJ Herber, Missy Humiston, Jason Herber, Jessica McEachern, Scotty Beland, Randy and Emma Hall and aunts; Lynda (Jerry) Wood and Nannette (Donnie) Wise.
