Mary Viola Cargill of La Plata, Maryland died on Monday, December 23, 2013 at her residence. She was 74 years old.

Born on January 17, 1939 in Hilltop, Maryland she was a Teacher's Aid with the Charles County Public Schools. Mrs. Cargill was an active member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church in Pisgah and loved being with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother Nellie May Johnson; her husband Francis DeSales Cargill; her daughter-in-law Theresa Cargill; her brother William F. Johnson.

Mrs. Cargill is survived by her two sons, Billy and his wife Temple of Bryans Road, MD and Russell Cargill of Indian Head, MD; her sister Nellie Speake of Nanjemoy, MD; her brothers Harry X. Johnson of Virginia, Edward Johnson of La Plata and Benny Johnson of La Plata; her grandchildren Nate Cargill, Nick Cargill and his wife Amanda, Alissa Cargill, Joey Torbic, April Thompson and her husband Matthew; five great-grandchildren.

Visitation on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 2PM to 4PM and from 6PM to 8PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A. 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Funeral Service on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 11AM at the Pisgah United Methodist Church 7020 Poor House Road, La Plata, MD 20646.

Interment service to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, Maryland. Pallbearers are Russell Cargill, Nate Cargill, Nick Cargill, Matthew Thompson, Tommy Wood, Darrin Krivitsky, Wayne Johnson.
