Anthony "Tony" Frederick Bartek, 64, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on December 3, 2013 at Dove House Inpatient Hospice in Westminster, MD. He was born on December 16, 1948 in Omaha, NE to the late Mervin Frederick Bartek and the late Dolores Marie (Stimler) Bartek.

Tony was a retired Captain with the Washington DC Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He provided endless hours of work and devotion to his church. His home was always open as he loved his friend and family get-togethers. He was a hard worker, very organized but most important thoughtful and caring.

In addition to his parents, Anthony was predeceased by his sister, Janelle Peake.

Anthony is survived by his children, Joy Dickson and Michael Bartek (Melissa); siblings, Timothy Bartek, Nancy Agustin, Thomas Bartek and Julie Flanigan; and two grandchildren, Ella Bartek and Alexander Bartek. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members who loved him dearly.

Family and friends will be received to celebrate Tony's life on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Laurel Grove, 21708 Mt. Zion Church Road, Mechanicsville, MD 20659. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, at the church. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
