Melvin Wayne Brown, Jr. (Age 31) of La Plata, Maryland.

Suddenly on September 7, 2013, Melvin "Silkk" Brown Jr. was called home where he now has eternal rest. Silkk, as he was affectionately known by everyone, was born in Prince Georges County, Maryland, on July 11, 1982 to Brenda "Penny" Adams and the late Melvin Wayne Brown Sr.

Melvin was joined in holy matrimony on April 4, 2009 to Tiffany S. Rosier.

Melvin was educated in the Charles County Public School system and attended Henry E. Lackey High School, in Indian Head, Maryland. While attending High school he played Varsity football. For numerous years, Melvin was employed at A-Whisco Moving Company.

In addition to his father, Melvin W. Brown Sr., he was preceded in death by his grandparents, James W. Brown and Mary R. Dunmore Harrison.

Left to cherish fond memories are his three children, Amari, Mariah and Melvin W. Brown III; mother, Brenda "Penny" Adams; brother, Tevin M. Campbell; grandmother, Gladys C. Adams; maternal uncles, Jimmy, Cecil, Joseph, Kenny, Charlie, Joe, Lonnie and Jeffery Adams; maternal special aunt, Joyce Berry; paternal uncles, Calvin, George, Charles Cooper and William Brown; paternal aunts, Doris Cooper- Fountaine, Agnes Keys and Veronica Lewis; special step-father, Kevin L. Campbell; special friend, Denemiah "Puka " Keys and a host of cousins, especially the Brown/Cooper Men, other relatives and friends.

Viewing, 9am until time of service 11am, Monday September 16, 2013 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A. 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640. Interment, St. Catherine's Church Cemetery, 7865 Port Tobacco Road, Port Tobacco (Mc Conchie), Maryland 20677.
