Walter "Wally" John Knight, 66, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on August. 26, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Residing in Frederick for the past 10 years, he spent most of his adult life in the Waldorf area. He was born on September 27, 1946 to Dillard J. and Alice Marie Knight in St. Louis, Missouri.

Wally was preceded in death by a brother, Billy; a sister, Chrissy; his father and his first wife, Joyce.

After his High School graduation in 1964, he worked for C&P Telephone and then the federal government until his retirement in 2004.

In his spare time he enjoyed photography, cooking, and drag racing. He loved restoring cars from the 50's, 60's and 70's. He was a member of the Maryland Chevelle Club, a moderator on the Chevelle Forum. He was also an active member of Frederick Presbyterian Church.

Wally is survived by his wife,Ginny; 2 children, Jeff Knight of Mechanicsville, MD and Kim Knight-Kost and husband John Kost of Waldorf, MD; his mother, Alice Marie Knight, 2 sisters, Beverly Crites and Patricia Moore, all of Potosi, Missouri; 2 step-children, Jami Morris and Liza Paap; and 6 grandchildren, Brian, Sean and Nicholas Knight, Lanie Kost, Kaleb and Molly Morris.

In Lieu of flowers, please send contributions in Wally's name to Frederick Presbyterian Church, 115 W. 2nd Street, Frederick, MD 21703. Wally always wanted to remodel and update the kitchen.

A celebration of Wally's life will be conducted on August 31, at 11:00am at the church. The Rev. Dr. Eric T. Myers, Pastor will officiate.
