Lillian French Springer 90, of Valley Lee died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at St. Mary's Nursing Center. She was born at Hunters Hill Farm in Valley Lee on February 27, 1923 the daughter of the late Robert and Louise Tarleton of Valley Lee.

Lillian married Paul McKay Springer, Sr. on September 7, 1944. She is survived by four children; Paul McKay Springer, Jr. (Gwen) of Newburg, MD, Barbara Ann Pelant (Joseph) of LeCenter, MN, Judith Elaine Scot (Jesse) of Lisbon Falls, Maine and Stephen Scot Springer (Debra) of Valley Lee, MD. Her grandchildren are Todd White, Tara Kulseth, Paul Springer, III, Susan Bricker, David Scot, and Amanda Corkum. There are six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her siblings; Lloyd, Harold, Mildred and Sister Marquerite (Hazel) Tarleton.

Lillian loved being at home on Herring Creek which was built by her and her husband, Paul. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading about history, gardening and was quite the seamstress.

There will be a private family viewing at Raymond Funeral Home in La Plata, MD on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. On Thursday, April 25, 2013 there will be a wake from 9:30 to 10:30 at Holy Face Catholic Church, Great Mills, followed by a mass of Christian Burial. The Reverend Joseph Calis will officiate. Interment will follow at Cheltenham Veteran's Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD at 2PM.
