Charles Robert "Bob" Owens, 71, of Charlotte Hall, MD, died on April 17, 2013 at his residence. He was born on May 22, 1941 in Goodwill, WV, son of the late Charles Gordon Owens and the late Alva Louise (Hodges) Owens.

Bob moved to Charlotte Hall in September of 2007. He was a Journeyman Millwright in the Union Local 1831 and retired in 2008. Bob belonged to the Harley Owners Group and The Mountain Top Hunting Club. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hanging out with his many friends, hunting, fishing, the outdoors & wildlife, caring for his chickens (his ladies), working in his garden, working on all engines, large and small.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his youngest brother, Jimmy Lee Owens of Bluefield, WV.

Bob is survived by his wife, Gerry (Belcher) Owens; his daughters and son-in-laws, Tammy Bowie (Jeffrey) of Waldorf, MD and Bobbi Farquhar (Thomas) of Edgewater, MD; brother, Don Gordon Owens and wife Pat Owens of Knoxville, TN; sister, Sandra McMurray and husband Jim McMurray of Tazewell, TN; four grandchildren, Ryan Bowie, Ashlee Bowie, Lauren Farquhar, and Carson Farquhar; one great grandchild, Emma Bowie; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received for Bob's Life Celebration on Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Life Wesleyan Church, 9690 Shepherds Creek Place, La Plata, MD 20646. There will be a Funeral Service on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM at New Life of La Plata. Pastor Chris Bryan will officiate. Interment will follow to Wesleyan Memorial Gardens, La Plata, MD.

Pallbearers will be: Jeffrey Bowie, Ryan Bowie, David Dopler, Carson Farquhar, Thomas Farquhar, David Groenwoldt, Luke Groenwoldt, and James McConchie.
